The Risk Management Policy outlines our approach to assessing risk and supporting people to take positive risks and manage complex risks. It is our responsibility to assess and manage any risks so that we are not reckless or negligent, but also do not restrict people unnecessarily, whilst meeting our duty of care requirements. The policy is designed to enable practitioners to balance safety with an individual’s right to make decisions about their own life.

The accompanying Risk Management Tool can be used to complete risk assessments with adults and identify ways of mitigating or reducing risks.
