Safeguarding Adults Large Scale Enquiry Policy and Procedure (opens in tri.x)
Large Scale Enquiries have an important role in understanding and responding to concerns about organisational abuse or neglect. They provide an opportunity to review a number of individual safeguarding enquiries together, to identify patterns and underlying causes of abuse and neglect, and to identify the learning and measures needed to safeguard people who use that service.
This policy and procedure sets out when a Large-Scale Enquiry should be considered, as well as general practice principles for Safeguarding Coordinators that will need to be applied with professional judgement and proportionality in light of the specific circumstances.
The accompanying Welfare Review Template (opens in Word) should be used establish the person’s expressed preferences, thoughts and feelings as well as reviewing the current quality of care and identify and action any concerns or changes as part of LSE or other monitoring systems regarding the safety and/or quality of care provision.
